Vimy Ridge Battle, April 1917: Percival Twidale, a soldier in the First Canadian Division, was in the first group to go over the trenches and charge up the ridge. Four hours later his division achieved their objective. Though wounded, Percy managed to escort several German prisoners down the ridge to the base headquarters before he was sent to the hospital. He survived his injury and returned to Canada. He at age 93 in Victoria, British Columbia. He is survived by his son, James and grandson, Dr. John Twidale.
